What is the estimated door-2-door transit time for my
shipment?
7 – 10 days by Air and 45 – 90 days by sea depending upon
consolidation timelines (LCL) the steamship line, route, distance from
origin/destination location to nearest port, completion of required
documentation, payment remittance and port congestion at any connecting ports
How soon will my
shipment depart after pickup?
For FCL shipments, this primarily depends on two factors.
Ships have a set sailing schedule and containers can be picked up from the
terminal for loading usually up to 1 week prior to sailing date. The container
would depart from the terminal within a week from loading. Also, if we pick up
from an inland location such as Dallas, Detroit, Chicago, Atlanta, etc then you
need to factor in a week for inland transit of the container by road or rail to
the nearest sea port. For LCL the key factor is consolidation time. It usually
takes 2 – 4 weeks to complete a consolidation and palletize your shipment. Next
is the ship’s sailing schedule. Ships have a set sailing schedule and
containers can be picked up from the terminal for loading usually up to 1 week
prior to sailing date. The container would depart from the terminal within a
week from loading.
